HANS NEWS SERVICE Madakasira/Nandikotkur (Anantapur): YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has raised a new controversy with regard to Kia Motors. The Opposition leader claimed that the project came to Anantapur district because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and not Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Naidu made huge money in giving contract to L&T in the name of ground levelling. Addressing meetings at Somandepalle and Madakasira, Jagan said if voted to power, he will merge APSRTC into the government disbanding it as a corporation. He assured that he will take care of the welfare of all government employees. He said his government would notify all the 2.30 lakh government vacancies and every year in January a status report on existing vacancies would be made public. It will also create new jobs for the youth in rural areas. Village secretariats will be established and one volunteer for every 50 households will be appointed. These jobs will be given to the local youth, he said. Asking voters not to get carried away by the allurement of Rs 3000 offered by the TDP. He warned the people that if they get tempted, they would slip into slavery of the TDP who would show their true colours after they are voted to power. He reiterated his promise to deposit Rs 75,000 in the accounts of SC, ST, BCs and minority women who are above 45 years. He vowed to waive off every outstanding loan of DWACRA women in phases. The YSRCP chief asked his well-wishers, party workers and sympathisers to fan out into the villages for the next 10 days and publicise the schemes of the party. Continued on Page 4 Amaravati: Who brought Kia Motors to Anantapur? Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu or Prime Minister Narendra Modi? This is the new hot topic of discussion in the state and is going to be another major issue that would be utilised by the TDP to criticise the YSRCP. A day after Modi addressed a meeting at Kurnool, YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, during his public meetings, said the credit of bringing Kia Motors to Anantapur goes to Modi sparking a new round of war of words between the two main contenders for power – the TDP and the YSRCP. Reacting to it, vice-chairman of AP Planning Board Kutumba Rao said this is the joke of the century and once again exposes how loyal Jagan is to Modi. He said Modi who gave a big list of what the chowkidar had given to the state no where did he claim that he had gifted Kia Motors to the state. If what Jagan said was correct, then Modi would have made a big issue out of it, he added. Rao further said Jagan is known for levelling all kinds of allegations and try to damage the image of any company that refuses to give him kickbacks. That is why he was levelling baseless allegations that huge money has been given to L&T to level the ground. Who is Jagan to certify whether land requires levelling or not, he asked. ‘Do we need rowdy raj’ n Naidu urges people to defeat YSRCP, BJP in polls HANS NEWS SERVICE Rajam/Itchapuram/Srikakulam: With the polling date fast approaching, Chief Minister N Chandrababu is going more and more aggressive. He has changed his style of campaign. He is now directly attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, and Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan. Naidu’s new style of campaign is to ask questions to the people without mincing words. Do you need Pulivendula type politics in the state? If you vote for Jagan you will have rowdies in every street, do you need them? Do you need a man who attended Assembly only for 25 days and courts for 250 days or one who is always with the people? Do we need actors? Let them remain confined to films. Modi has cheated us and has given a pot full of water and mud. Can you trust him again? He asks people. As the cheers rent up the air, Naidu goes on to ask more questions. Taking on Modi, he says Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at a public meeting at Itchapuram in Srikakulam district on Saturday the Prime Minister has cheated us and still he has the cheek to come here and say that Naidu is corrupt and talks about son rise. “See the CAG reports of Modi when he was the CM you will know, who is corrupt. London: There was some lighthearted moments at the UK court on Friday when Judge Emma Arbuthnot hearing the second bail plea of Nirav Modi asked the prosecution whether the fugitive diamantaire would be lodged in the same jail cell along with Vijay Mallya if he is also extradited to India. The 48-year-old diamond merchant is wanted in India for alleged "high value and sophisticated" fraud and money laundering amounting to $2 billion. At the very start of the hearing, Westminster Magistrates Court Chief Magistrate Arbuthnot said she was getting a sense of "deja vu", in reference to her having ordered the extradition of Mallya in December last year. "Do we know which part of India he [Nirav] is being sought in," the judge asked, to try and establish which jail Nirav Modi is likely to be held in. She was told by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), arguing on behalf of the Indian government, that it would be an extradition to Mumbai and that he may in fact be held in the same Arthur Road Jail as that prepared for liquor tycoon Mallya, to which the judge said in a lighter vein that it could even be the same cell as we know "there is space" from the previous video submit- HIGHLIGHTS • The judge asked where Nirav is likely to be lodged in India if extradited • The CPS replied that he would be extradited to Mumbai and may even be held at the same Mumbai jail prepared for Mallya • Hearing this, the judge said in a lighter vein that it could even be the same cell! ted during the Mallya extradition trial. India has informed the UK court that Mallya will be lodged in one of the high security barracks located in a two-storey building inside the prison complex. Authorities at the Arthur Road prison in Mumbai have kept a high security cell ready for Mallya if he is extradited from UK in connection with loan de- fault cases against him in India. Mallya, wanted in India on charges of fraud and money laundering amounting to around Rs 9,000 crore, has filed his application in the UK high court, seeking permission to appeal against an extradition order signed by the British home secretary. If extradited, 62-year-old Mallya will be lodged in the prison complex, which also housed 26/11 Mumbai attack terrorist Mohammad Ajmal Kasab. An official from the Union ministry of home affairs earlier said Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail was one of the best in the country. His comments came after Judge Arbuthnot asked Indian authorities to submit a video of the Arthur Road Jail cell where they plan to keep Mallya following his extradition. The official said adequate medical facilities were available to treat prisoners in Arthur Road Jail, where Mallya would get full security cover as an undertrial prisoner and it was highly secured in accordance with international standards. The central government has already conducted an assessment of security cover given to prisoners in the Arthur Road Jail and its findings conveyed to the UK court. who has no family and knows nothing about family relations. Earlier, the TRS decided to take up poll campaign in support of the YSR Congress but withdrew the proposal in the eleventh hour anticipating political advantage to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on the issue of intervention of KCR in AP politics through the YSR Congress. Stunned by Naidu’s vigorous campaign against KCR and Jagan’s collusion politics, KCR also cancelled his tour of AP during this poll season. Participating in a party roadshow in Narasampet town in the Mahabubabad Lok Sabha constituency, KTR said Jagan and other leaders such as West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav are part of the Federal Front which will play a decisive role at the Centre in the formation of government after the general election. The TRS will win 16 MP seats and gather support of 150 MPs from other regional parties, he said, adding that the Front will decide the Prime Ministerial candidate. "The Indian armed forces for the first time killed the terrorists in their own territory. While the whole world stood by India, the Congress family have lost their sleep," Modi told an election rally here in Assam's Dibrugarh district. "Now you have to decide whether you want a strong government or a government run by people stained (by allegations of corruption)," he said. Showering appreciation for the Moran community, the Prime Minister said that India cannot strengthen itself unless Assam was strengthened. Modi also slammed the earlier Congress government for what he said was its apathy towards the tribals in the tea community. "They do not like this chowkidar but they also don't like the chaiwala. They don't even like to look into the eyes of the chaiwala. Only this chaiwala can understand the pain of the chaiwala," he said. He was clearly referring to some of the flagship schemes launched by the BJP government in Assam for the benefit of the tea tribes. The Prime Minister alleged that various development projects got delayed when the Congress ruled Assam. "It is our government that has completed many of the long-delayed projects." The Prime Minister slammed the Congress for the Assam Accord and said that his government was working to ensure its implementation. "Our government is also seriously considering a proposal to grant ST status to six communities of Assam. However, in doing so we will ensure that none of the existing tribals are affected," he added.
