An overwhelming 85 of the participants in the survey said voting should be made compulsory. The survey is based on responses from two lakh Inshorts subscribers across the country in March. The majority of participants were from Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai. He said the people should support the TDP for making AP a vibrant state. He said if they support the TDP in the elections, then both the TDP and AAP can jointly ﬁght for justice at national level. He said businessmen suffered a lot because of demonetisation and GST. Modi failed to protect the interests of farmers. He said Modi has been successful only in creating differences between communities and people. If Modi comes back to power, there would be no democracy. Over 100 MPs have criminal cases: ADR N MOST CROREPATI LAWMAKERS ARE FROM BJP HANS NEWS SERVICE Kadapa: In a major development which can have political overtones, the police arrested E Gangi Reddy, a close aide of Y S Vivekananda Reddy, his personal secretary Krishna Reddy and Prakash Reddy, son of housemaid Lakshmi on Thursday. They were charged with destroying evidence at the crime scene and misleading the police. YSRCP leader Vivekananda Reddy was brutally murdered on March 15 in his house in Pulivendula. The murder assumed political colour with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and YSRCP president Jaganmohan Reddy, nephew of Vivekananda Reddy, trading charges against each other. While Yerra Gangi Reddy being produced in the magistrate court in Kadapa on Thursday Jagan alleged that it was Naidu who was behind the murder, the Chief Minister has been saying that it was handiwork of family members. The state government had constituted a SIT, headed by CID chief Amit Garg, to probe the case. During the course of investigation, the police interrogated about 50 persons. Continued on Page 15 New Delhi: At least 83 per cent of 521 sitting MPs are 'crorepatis' and 33 per cent of them have criminal cases against them, according to a report by election watchdog Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). The ADR, an NGO working in electoral reforms, has compiled the report after analysing self-sworn affidavits of the 521 MPs out of 543 members elected to the Lok Sabha in the 2014 elections. The operations were carried out just hours after Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy announced that over 300 I-T officials along with CRPF jawans were en route to Mandya to conduct raids on JD(S) leaders.
