New twist in Jayaram’s murder Shikha makes key disclosures HANS NEWS SERVICE Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Police has intensified their probe into the murder of NRI industrialist Chigurupati Jayaram. With the evidences collected by them at the spot and in Hyderabad, the police came to a conclusion that one Rakesh Reddy is allegedly behind the murder. But police yet to confirm this. The 55-year-old Jayaram was murdered on January 31. His body was found in the back seat of his car, which was left parked on the highway side at Ithavaram village. With several head injuries and no damage to the car, the murder raised several suspicions. Ten police teams have been working on the case and financial aspects seem to be the motive behind the murder. According to the police, she has not only disclosed personal matters of her and Jayaram but also explained their financial dealings which might have led to the killing of Jayaram. Shikha alleged that Jayaram’s character and behaviour towards her and her sister was not good, and he has sexually exploited her. She revealed that she had married twice and took divorce from both of them. She said she was dating Rakesh Reddy, who used to finance the film personalities and other businessman. She said due to Rakesh Reddy her second marriage collapsed and after taking divorce from her second husband she was planning to marry Rakesh Reddy. Meanwhile, she accepted that she only introduced Rakesh Reddy to Jayaram. When Jayaram was facing financial crunch due to the disputes with his wife, he had faced a lot of problems financially. Continued on Page 4 3 crowns of Govindaraja Swamy temple go missing HANS NEWS SERVICE Tirupati: Three golden crowns of the TTD Govindaraja Swamy Temple, Tirupati, went missing on Saturday evening. This issue came to the light late in the night. Following this, the TTD vigilance department filed a case with the police. The three crowns are estimated to be worth Rs 40 lakh and weigh 1351 grams. The sensational incident took place during the evening Nivedyam time around 5.45 pm. After the completion of Nivedyam, temple Archakas found that the golden TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal, CVSO Gopinath Jetti, Tirupati JEO P Bhaskar and other officials at the Govindaraja Swamy temple on Sunday crowns of processional deities of Govindaraja Swamy went missing. Every day, Archakas perform Nivedyam at 5.45 pm. On Saturday also, Archakas performed Nivedyam, during that time temple doors were shut down for 30 minutes. After reopening of the temple doors, the staff found that the golden crowns were missing. Continued on Page 4 Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday lashed out at the Central Bureau of Investigation after it attempted a raid at the residence of Kolkata Commissioner of Police Rajeev Kumar over allegations that he had a role to play in the chit fund scams that plague the Trinamool Congress government in the state. Attacking Prime MinRajeev Kumar ister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah of carrying out a witch-hunt against the state government, she said: “This is a witch-hunt by the BJP government and Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. They (BJP) are using brute physical force to destabilise West Bengal. They have compromised on all ethics of politics,” Mamata Banerjee said. “Whenever an election comes close, the BJP does these antics around chit fund scams.” “I am going to stage a dharna to save the federal structure. From today, I’m going to sit near the Metro Channel. Tomorrow proceedings in the State Assembly will take place where I will hold a meeting. This dharna means satyagraha,” the CM told mediapersons. A scuffle also reportedly broke out between the state police force and the CBI team after they raided the Commissioner of Police's residence. 6 killed in Bihar train tragedy Sonepur: At least six passengers died, and 24 others were injured on Sunday when 11 bogies of the Delhi-bound Seemanchal Express jumped the tracks in Bihar's Vaishali district, railway and police officials said. The train originated from Jogbani in Kishanganj district and the accident took place around 4 am, they said.
