A raging debate on in AP political circles OUR BUREAU Amravati: A drastic realignment of forces will take place post the election to the Lok Sabha in 2019, if the BJP failed to secure majority, political players in Andhra Pradesh argue, pointing out that nothing could be ruled out in the end game, including AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu once again cosying up to the BJP. An interesting debate is going on in political circles in AP on what would the BJP do if it does not get a majority in the next Lok Sabha elections. As far as the TDP is concerned, it is no longer part of the NDA now. The YSRCP, if one keeps the allegations that it has a tacit understanding with the BJP, at bay, it too has taken anti-BJP stand. COMMITTED TO PROTECTING RIGHTS OF DALITS: PASWAN Hyderabad: The ongoing tussle between the Telangana State Waqf Board (TSWB) and 300-odd families of the Jubilee Pallavi Enclave (JPE) is becoming intense due to the conspicuous silence of the state government on the issue. According to Revenue department sources, the lands in an extent of 90 acres fall under Sufekhas or personal lands of the erstwhile Nizam of Hyderabad as per its records. One Miss Decosta had purchased the lands in Guttala Begumpeta in Serlingampally in an auction. After her demise, the ownership of lands had passed on to her sole legal heir Lt Col G E Cox. In turn, he had sold the lands to one B Ramalingeswara Rao after obtaining due permission from the authorities concerned in 1962. Thereafter, Ramalingeswara Rao had executed an unregistered gift deed to the Hyderabad Archdiocese Society (HAS) in 1973. The society had sold the same to several people over a period executing registered sale deeds. All this was submitted to the Land Grabbing Continued on P4 Court (LGC). New Delhi: There is a need to overturn the Supreme Court order laying down fresh guidelines on arrest of those accused of committing atrocities against SC and ST communities, the government feels, and bringing an ordinance to restore the original provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act is one of the options being considered. Sources aware of deliberations within the government at different levels say promulgating an ordinance to restore the original provisions would help calm tempers. Introducing a bill in the Monsoon session of Parliament slated for July to amend the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 to overturn the SC order is the second option before the government, the sources said. e-Way bills: Over 30% drop in goods transportation TACKLING TERROR THREATS Hyderabad: During the first fortnight of new e-Way bill system regime, goods transportation volume in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh dwindled considerably. Inter-state e-Way bill system, which came into force from April 1, and intra-state e-Way bills, effective from Sunday (April 14 midnight), created a cautious environment across the industry and businesses. Anticipating technical hitches and other unforeseen troubles, traders and industrial units had transported goods in one-month advance, according to Hyderabad Goods Transport Association (HGTA). Due to tepid cargo movement from various industrial centres, truck rentals too dropped by 5-10 per cent.
