The Chief Minister has deliberately chosen Tarakarama stadium in Tirupati from where Narendra Modi as BJP’s prime ministerial candidate spoke and made promises, including the Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh in 2014. As the TDP is considering this as a preparatory meeting for the next general elections, the Chief Minister himself is monitoring the arrangements. The TDP is mobilising people from Kadapa, Nellore and Anantapur districts. Party sources said the party will conduct such meetings once in a month in all districts later. Though the Telugu Desam Party is claiming that the Tirupati public meeting is aimed at creating awareness among the public over the betrayal of the NDA government which denied the Special Category Status to the state and not implementing the AP Reorganisation Act, the Chief Minister is likely to focus mainly on the ‘collusion’ between the BJP and YSRCP. The Chief Minster has already said that the BJP and the YSR Congress are in hurry to strike a pre-poll alliance. He also said the BJP had allowed the TDP to leave the NDA to encourage the YSR Congress as it feels that it will be easy to deal with that party as the YSRC chief is an accused in several cases.
