After being 0-2 down in the best-of-five final played last night, India found itself in a deeper hole at 0-30 down in the third frame. Thanks to a well-crafted 39 break from Chandra and a classy clearance of the final colours by Advani, the Indian hopes were kept alive. S P12 GDP shows recovery signs I n an election year, if the economy is marching to a high growth trajectory putting the worst behind, that is indeed good talk point for Narendra Modi in his political rallies in 2019 general polls. For the full year, if the GDP comes to around 7.2 per cent to 7.4 per cent, Modi government will present the pain faced by the economy in the second and third years of its rule as the price paid for important structural reforms such as demonetisation and GST (goods and services tax). That has been the narrative from the party to defend the economic slowdown phase. Earlier in the day, while addressing a press conference in the capital, BJP national chief Amit Shah said the Left is not right for any part of India. "As far as the question of Left is concerned, this has been proved that the Left is not right for any part of the country," Shah said. The Budget will be presented by Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on March 8. The only Opposition party in the Assembly, YSRCP, has announced the boycott of the Assembly demanding action against the defected MLAs from the YSRCP to the TDP. As this will be the final full budget of the TDP government, it is expected that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will ring the election bell by increasing allocations to the welfare schemes. He may also allocate more funds for the schemes promised in the TDP election manifesto. Though he has been fulfilling his poll promises of 2014 general elections, still he has to provide unemployment allowance and some other promises also need to be addressed by the government.
