On Saturday, he became the first captain to score centuries in three consecutive Tests. He ended the first day of the Delhi Test against Sri Lanka with an unbeaten 156, He had scored 104 not out in the second innings of the Kolkata Test and followed it with a dazzling 213 in India's only innings in the Nagpur Test. Virat started his captaincy stint with three consecutive centuries versus Australia. The record of most consecu- tive centuries as a captain is held by South Africa's Alan Melville who scored four in a row versus England between 1938-1939 and 1947. Kohli achieved the milestone in just 110 deliveries. It was the fastest Test century of his career. The right-hand batsman also completed his 3000 Test runs as captain. But that’s not where the wheel stops turning for the 29-year old. Scoring his third consecutive century in the series made Kohli the first captain to do so in a 3-match Test tournament. CM chalking out sub-plan for BCs Hyderabad: In a shrewd political move, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is preparing to create a BC sub-plan to enlist the support of BCs who are considered backbone of Telugu Desam Party. Though the yellow party has more or less been wiped out from the face of Telangana state, the Chief Minister appears to be keen that even its vestiges be removed so that there would be no scope for any green-shoots in future. In Telangana state, BCs constitute 52 per cent of the total population and any measure to benefit them would be politically advantageous to the ruling party. The BC sub-plan is on the lines of the one existing for SCs and STs. Chandrasekhar Rao, who has called a meeting of representatives of BCs on Sunday, is expected to fine-tune the proposal after consulting with them. The Chief Minister is keen that the BC sub-plan should have statutory backing. Finance and BC welfare departments are preparing proposals for BC sub-plan to be in- troduced from the next financial year. According to senior officials, KCR has already discussed the issues relating to financial implications for the state budget after the implementation of BC sub-plan. Legal formalities and generation of funds for the Most Backward Class (MBC) Corporation would also be discussed. More than 20 existing BC corporations have been brought under the purview of MBC corporation. Continued on P4 Manjunath against Kapus in BC list?
